BITTY MC LEAN (KINGSTON, JAMAICA)

Guillaume Bougard took me to Jamaica again for the making of BITTY MC LEAN new album.

This was my last job with dear PD150, (i got this camera in 2000 for the freediving film) so i guess 7 years is enough... Anyway...

Great chance to work again with SLY & ROBBIE and meet the man behind this incredible voice : BITTY... (we may go back in 2008 to make a "KINGSTON STYLE" music video....)

Its on this trip that TAXI GANG member nicknamed me "GREY CAP" since my face was always looking down to my camera view finder... the only thing they really saw of me was a Grey cap...

see some of it here

LOUIS VUITTON "winds and sails"

Got asked to do a really cool video art installation for LOUIS VUITTON gallery on the CHAMPS ELYSSEES along with some interesting artists. Came up with some 9 metters long by 3 metters high screen where I showed a video of different sea scapes around the world with different wind speed, from 2 knocts to 50 knocts. Then you put a big earphone on your head and trip on cool sound design and subliminal images of a VUITTON'S CUP RACE. It was a great experience, the film was a big sucess and is now showing in Barcelona in the VUITTON shop.
The sea scape were shot by dear friend director NICO TEPO with D.O.P CHRISTOPHE GRAILLOT

MS 13 (jan 2007)

Directed by good old friend MARCO NICOLETI, he took me to San Salvador with my PD150 to shoot the begining of his 52 mn documentary on one of the famous & worst gangs in the world. I loved it, so intense all your senses are awake, making images under this pressure is a great learning experience. (see a clip on my website)

SURF IS UP

My first shoot underwater with slow motion 35mm film camera.... so cool to hear the film going high speed in the silence of the freedive. We really had lots of fun with D.O.P SACHA WEIRNIK and producer JOZÉ NETO from STILL PRODUCAO. 15 days of surfing and getting paid for it... its not fair.... i agree

ABDL AL MALIK

D.O.P BENJAMIN SEHAN first music video....

Gedeon producer' SOPHIANE TILIKETE made it possible to shoot digibeta using pro35 and beautiful zeiss series. We put all the light on remote tables and played with it... during the take, so there is no post on the film. Big up to Malik & crew and musicians, very pro and super friendly.

see the film on my site

BEYOND THE HORIZON

Produced by GEDEON

A crasy project of paper cuts looking like landscapes, and camera movement looking like helicopter rides... and in full HD... and in a one sequence take please...

They said : "make it look like paper, but also as real as possible"... "yeah man!!!"

This was a job for a great friend set designer STEPHANE ROZENBAUM who won many prize for his faboulous job with MICHEL GONDRY for his set design in THE SCIENCE OF SLEEP. We worked for weeks with DOP CHRISTOPHE GRAILLOT to find the right hand made paper and the right lenses and set up... 15 hours shoot... and got it all done... but... got it all sent to the bin by the client... "just does not look right"

So great friend director and after effect artist KINO came in and saved the production... He spent 3 weeks tearing "post-it" paper on his scanner then pushed the limit of his after effect and sleep... and did it all
